Head to Spitler Woods Nature Preserve and enjoy the old-growth forests in Macon County. Its 200 acres includes both dry forest as well as floodplain forest along Squirrel Creek. Enjoy the music of songbirds along this park’s 2.5 miles of trails.

For a getaway just 15 minutes from Decatur, this park’s single campsite can be reserved for a group and offers a fire pit and picnic table.
