This 1,366-acre forest preserve has something for everyone. Walk, jog, bike, or even ride your horse along their many trails! Interested in finding a great spot to fish? Catch bluegill, largemouth bass, northern pike, rainbow trout, and walleye at one of Blackwell’s fishing spots! Explore the beautiful waters of Silver Lake on a canoe, kayak, rowboat, or paddleboard. Both experienced and first-time archers are sure to enjoy Blackwell’s beginner, advanced, and interactive archery ranges. If you’re feeling adventurous, test your skills with the moderately challenging self-guided compass course on Mount Hoy (known as Mount Trashmore to some of the locals)!

Blackwell Forest Preserve can accommodate tents, trailers, and motorhomes. Each site offers electricity, gravel parking pad, fire ring, and a picnic table. It’s important to note none of the sites offer sewage or water hookups. If you’re in need of a campsite in DuPage County for your youth organization, Blackwell has you covered! They have 12 youth group campgrounds that each hold 25 campers and include a fire ring and picnic table.
